It's that time of year.  The board has received a report that a large bear took down a hummingbird feeder on Sandstone Sunday night.  With a very hot and dry summer looming ahead of us it is likely that bears and other wildlife will be looking for food sources that may bring them closer to human activity.  Now is a good time to take a look at your yard and make sure any attractions are as secure as possible.  Let's keep both ourselves and the bears safe.

Another resident has also confirmed a bear enjoying a meal on their birdfeeders with some mild damage.  The Colorado Division of Wildlife has some information about bears on their website here.  They have local phone numbers in several cities including Colorado Springs where you can be put in contact with a bear volunteer who will answers questions you may have.  The Colorado Springs pDOW phone number is (719) 227-5200.
